Hello and welcome to all the cinephiles! My name is Manasi. :)
So, as a part of my course, Diploma in Filmmaking (Advanced), at Yoobee School of Design, in Wellington, New Zealand, way back in 2015-2016, we all had to make our own individual short film from scratch. Which meant, we had to come up with our own individual concept, write a synopsis and a proper screenplay, choose the cast and the locations, shoot and edit the film, including the sound editing. The crew members for each of us for the shoot were from the class itself, which made the learning experience more interesting. The process was very long but very professional and totally worth it, considering we all got to learn a lot. My personal experience? It was definitely fun, and my respect for all the filmmakers increased multi-fold! Honestly, coming up with a concept and writing a screenplay were challenging enough. Its not a perfect film, but successfully making a short-film on my own has only encouraged and interested me to learn more about each aspect of film-making. :)
Also, a couple of people asked me why have I revived this shortfilm after over a decade, so I thought of adding the reasons too here.
Firstly, I asked one of the film school's incharge if I am allowed to monetize using my shortfilm, for which he said I can, considering a lot of students even send their films to film festivals around the world. Secondly, and mainly, this is for helping me financially. Although I understand a few may select the option to not pay for their own reasons, which is also fine, as long as it reaches more people, and everyone understands that making a film takes a lot of time, energy and efforts. Thirdly, I want more people to watch the film I made to know and understand the different perspectives they have / had through the reviews / feedback they give / have given, which has been very interesting so far. Also, it will help more people know and understand my skills and interests too. I hope this helps; if anyone wants to know anything else, please feel free to ask me. :)
Please scroll down for a very brief synopsis of the film, instructions on how you can watch the short film, and the feedback form at the bottom of the page for giving any feedback or for any query after watching the film. :)
Please note: This is not at all time consuming, incase you're worried about that. The entire process, including filling up the first form for requesting the password, watching the shortfilm (9 minutes 6 seconds long including the end credits; we had time duration limit), making the payment if you opt to pay, and sharing your feedback, will at the max take only about 20 minutes of your time. :)
☆ Rating on an average so far: 4.3 / 5. 🧿
